DCYSA REFEREE REQUIREMENTS Revised 04/08/2008 |
|||||||||||||||||||||
|
All referees are expected to be properly attired for games: a) Gold soccer referee shirt (green, blue, black and red are also acceptable), must be tucked in at all times b) Current year badge on shirt c) Solid black shorts. During cold weather, black sweatpants will be allowed d) Black referee socks with three-stripe top, pulled up at all times e) Black shoes preferred f) A shirt worn under the referee shirt must be sold black or solid white
Referees who arrive without the proper attire will be warned initially. Referees who repeatedly do not wear the proper attire may be asked to leave the fields without pay.
Referees are expected to arrive at the fields at least 10 minutes prior to game time and sign in with the referee coordinator at the concession stand.
DCYSA strictly prohibits the “two-man” referee system. No game will start without a center referee and two assistant referees. If there is less than two assistant referees available, one or more parents or coaches will be required to assist the referee in making out of bounds calls. The center referee will be responsible for offsides calls if parents/coaches are used. The center referee and the assistant referee will receive regular pay for this game. If a second assistant referee arrives before the start of the second half and finishes the game, he/she will receive full pay.
Referees are expected to notify the DCYSA Referee Assignor or a DCYSA Board Member of any issues with coaches or parents.
